We went through the EPSO process ourselves — the months of preparation, the gate anxiety, the frustration with low-quality practice material — and decided to build something better.
Our story
The preparation resource we wished existed
When we prepared for our first EPSO competition, the practice landscape was fragmented — PDFs from 2015, question banks with wrong answer keys, mock tests that bore no resemblance to what EPSO actually tests.
We built Prepso to solve the specific problems we ran into: no adaptive difficulty, no quality explanations, no way to know if you were actually ready before walking into the assessment center.
The team behind Prepso is small — EU job-seekers turned builders. We know the exam from the inside, and we update the platform as EPSO evolves its question formats and assessment criteria.
2022
Sat our first EPSO competition. Scraped every past question we could find. Built a private spreadsheet with 400 verbal reasoning examples.
2023
Joined a preparation group with candidates from 12 countries. Realised the spreadsheet needed to be a product.
2024
First version of Prepso went live with 800 questions across 3 modules.
2025
Expanded to all 7 EPSO modules, 2,710 questions, adaptive difficulty, and AI essay feedback.

Our principles
Questions that mirror the real exam
Every question is written against the published EPSO question specifications and validated for difficulty level, wording style, and answer logic. We reject questions that are too easy, too ambiguous, or inconsistent with EPSO's published test-design principles.
Explanations that teach, not just correct
A wrong answer is only useful if you understand why. Every question carries a full explanation — not just "the answer is B" but the reasoning chain, the trap, and the rule to apply next time.
Honest about what we are
Prepso is independent. We are not affiliated with EPSO, EUFA, or any EU institution. Score predictions are models based on historical pass-rate data — they are directional guidance, not guarantees.

Question quality
How we write and validate questions
Specification-first
Every question starts from the published EPSO test-design guide for that module. We match the cognitive level, passage type (for verbal), and numerical complexity exactly.
Three-pass review
Each question is reviewed by at least two separate team members before it enters the bank — one for accuracy, one for whether the trap or distractor logic is fair and consistent with EPSO style.
Difficulty calibration
Questions are tagged Level 1 (training), Level 2 (exam-standard), and Level 3 (above exam difficulty). This lets the adaptive engine push you appropriately as your score improves.
Ongoing updates
EPSO adjusts its question formats over time. We update existing questions and add new ones as EPSO publishes new practice tests or competition notices that reveal format changes.
